The Beginning (Part 2)

Having walked through the ticket gate, Nicholas sat down on a bench on the waiting platform. His train wouldn't be arriving for a few more minutes, but Nicholas didn't have much else to do - it was a Saturday, and he had taken all of his saved up vacation time off of work, which amounted to a little over three weeks' worth since he hadn't taken or missed a single day since the local library had hired him over a year ago. Besides needed the time off to actually deal with all of the recent crap life had thrown his way, and staying in town as he was would only bring more trouble his way. Removing his backpack and once again looking through it to make sure he'd grabbed everything he needed before leaving home, he reflected on how relaxing it'd be to actually get out of town - ever since the episode at the high school and the library he'd been reflecting over what the shinigami had said, and frankly he was beginning to get tired of it, both figuratively and literally. Another problem was that he wasn't able to completely hide his presence and couldn't do it for more than a few minutes at a time, a fact that he was growing more and more concerned about everyday, which was why he was heading out to the hills west of Karakura for some privacy while he practiced. Hearing the screech of brakes on metal, Nicholas turned to look at the source of the sound and stood up as the train entered the station. He hoped he'd made the note he'd left behind for the shinigami clear enough. He'd even included a map, but he wasn't responisble for getting whoever they sent out there - that was their problem. He honestly didn't expect anyone to show up for at least a day or two, so at the very least it'd give him the time he needed to set up camp and reacquiant himself with the landscape.
